Alain Schlesser is an agentic engineer, architect, and technical leader based in Olzheim, Germany. He began in government IT in Luxembourg (2003–2014), went independent in 2014, and has since served as WP-CLI co-maintainer, WordPress Core contributor, and Principal Architect at Yoast, where he led architecture on a plugin running on more than 13 million sites. He delivered the PHP AMP Optimizer on partnership with Google and brought Microsoft's NLWeb protocol into the WordPress ecosystem. Recognised as a Google Developers Expert in Web Technologies, he has given more than fifty international conference talks across twelve countries — at WordCamp Europe, WordCamp Asia, brightonSEO, the International PHP Conference, CloudFest and elsewhere. His current focus is the architectural layer that makes intelligent systems orchestratable, auditable, and useful inside real organisations: agentic architecture, context engineering, and the evolution from SEO to Generative Engine Optimisation. He works with organisations as a fractional engineering lead, keynotes on what comes after the hype phase, and writes long-form essays on the discipline of paradigm-resilient design. He speaks English, German, French, and Luxembourgish fluently.
